Landlords & Letting Agents

In 2018, a governmental mandate was enacted, requiring all rental properties to attain a minimum Grade E efficiency rating. Failure to comply with this regulation could result in fines of up to £5,000 per property. The introduction of the new ECO scheme aims to elevate the efficiency rating of rental properties, upgrading them from E, F, or G EPC efficiency ratings to a minimum of C. This enhancement will be carried out through a “fabric first” approach, focusing on improving insulation and heating in your rental property.

At Energy Efficient You, we collaborate nationally with top-tier providers and energy firms to enhance insulation and heating systems in eligible properties. Our expertise lies in assisting homeowners and private tenants in reducing energy costs by enhancing home energy efficiency, aligned with the government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO). It’s important to highlight that rental properties with EPC efficiency ratings of E, F, or G are now eligible for ECO funding. With this grant, they must undergo improvements to achieve an EPC efficiency rating of C or higher.

Tenants of your landlord may be eligible if they receive any of the following benefits:

  1. Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
  2. Income Related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
  3. Income Support (IS)
  4. Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  5. Working Tax Credit (WTC)
  6. Child Tax Credits (CTC)
  7. Universal Credit (UC)
  8. Housing Benefit (NEW ELIGIBLE BENEFIT UNDER ECO 4)
